Art on the streets of Chelyabinsk

with No Comments

Chelyabinsk, a city famous for meteors and industrial pollution… but have you seen the street art?

You know this guy (and why the Как тебе такое, Илон Маск?” memes took over Russia last year)…
But do you know this guy? He’s Павел Дуров, the founder of Telegram.
I suspect this graffiti refers to Telegram’s new cryptocurrency- Грам, Gram– although I’m not sure why the writer spelled it with a double м.
These paintings decorated Chelyabinsk’s Площадь Науки (Science Square) this summer, just to the right of Kurchatov’s towering “Split Atom” monument.
Is that you, Yuri Gagarin?
Near a local gym.
More creations from Chelyabinsk Urbanist’s street art project.
In front of Площадь Науки.
You know what they say, “Если книг читать не будешь, скоро грамоту забудешь.” (If you don’t read, you’ll forget Russian grammar!)

More street art? I’m glad you asked! 😉
